Express Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly organized and detail driven Authorization & Intake Specialist (LPN) to support a leading Home Health and Hospice organization in the Missoula area. This role ensures smooth, compliant, and timely patient admissions by coordinating referrals, verifying insurance, and reviewing clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities: Intake & Referral Coordination
- Receive, process, and track incoming Home Health and Hospice referrals
- Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and payer requirements
- Communicate with referral sources, including hospitals and clinics
- Ensure all referral documentation is complete prior to admission
- Enter and maintain accurate referral data in the EMR
Insurance Verification & Authorization
- Confirm patient benefits, eligibility, and coverage limits
- Obtain prior authorizations for services, visits, and DME
- Track authorization status, expirations, and visit utilization
- Communicate authorization updates to clinical and scheduling teams
LPN Clinical Review & Face to Face Documentation
- Review referrals for clinical appropriateness and program eligibility
- Identify incomplete or missing clinical documentation and coordinate follow up
- Review Face to Face documentation for:
- Provider signature and date
- Required Medicare timeframes
- Clear support for Homebound status (Home Health) or terminal prognosis (Hospice)
- Documented medical necessity
- Coordinate with providers to resolve non compliant F2F notes
- Monitor outstanding F2Fs to prevent delays and reduce billing risk
Care Coordination & Compliance
- Communicate admission readiness to clinical supervisors
- Coordinate start of care timing with field clinicians
- Support compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations, accreditation standards, and HIPAA
- Participate in audits, quality reviews, and ongoing process improvements
Requirements
- Active Montana LPN license
- Strong clinical documentation and medical terminology knowledge
- Experience with insurance verification or authorizations
- Understanding of Home Health and/or Hospice eligibility criteria preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced intake environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
